To run Outlook with a command line switch, use the following steps:
Windows XP:
Click Start.
Click Run.
Enter the following in the Run dialog box (with quotations):
"c:\program files\microsoft office\office14\Outlook.exe" /Commandswitch
Click OK.
Windows Vista/7/8:
Click Start.
Click All Programs.
Click Accessories.
Click Run.
Enter the following in the Run dialog box (with quotations):
"c:\program files\microsoft office\office14\Outlook.exe" /Commandswitch
Note: For 32-bit versions of Outlook running on 64-bit Operating Systems, you will enter the following (with quotations):
"c:\program files (x86)\microsoft office\office14\Outlook.exe" /Commandswitch
Click OK.

| /cleanautocompletecache | Removes all names and e-mail addresses from the Auto Complete list. |
| /cleancategories | Deletes any custom category names that you have created, and restores all categories to their default names. |
| /cleanclientrules | Starts Outlook and deletes client-based rules. |
| /cleanfreebusy | Clears and regenerates the free/busy information on the Exchange server. This switch affects Outlook and OWA data, and can only be used when connected to Exchange. |
| /cleanfromaddress | Removes all manually added From: entries. |
| /cleanreminders | Clears and regenerates schedule reminders. |
| /cleanrules | Starts Outlook and deletes all client-based and server-based rules. |
| /cleanserverrules | Starts Outlook and deletes server-based rules. |
| /cleansharing | Removes all RSS, Internet Calendar, and SharePoint subscriptions, but leaves all previously downloaded content on your computer. |
| /cleansniff | Deletes duplicate reminder messages. |
| /cleanviews | Removes all custom views and restores default views. |
| /nopreview | Starts Outlook with the Reading Pane turned off. |
| /profiles | Open the Choose Profile dialog box. |
| /resetfolders | Restores missing folders for the default delivery location. |
| /resetnavpane | Clears and regenerates the Navigation Pane. |
| /resetsharedfolders | Removes all shared folders from the Navigation Pane. |
| /resettodobar | Clears and regenerates the To-Do Bar task list. |
| /restore | Attempts to open the same profile and folders that were open prior to an abnormal Outlook shutdown. |
| /safe | Starts Outlook with all extensions turned off and without Reading Pane or toolbar customizations. |
